This week, our previews will focus on the dual-type Agent Nine, an Advent suited for all-out aggression. Nine’s Resource types match up perfectly with his play-style: The Rage and Antillium Particle types both possess many low-cost and efficient Armada.
Nine can search your deck for an Armada that has a Total Resource Cost of three or less and put in into play. Decks that use varied low-cost Armada can make the best use of this effect by pulling out whatever is needed for the current situation, whether it be high attack, high defense, an Armada with Scout, or a specific effect you’d like to trigger. This effect also means you will never be without an Armada. So swarm the Battleground with as many as you can!
The downside to Nine’s all-out playstyle is that he tends to run out out of cards quickly. However, his first effect always give him an option for Armada deployment, even with no hand. Furthermore, after you’ve stocked your discarded pile with all the Armada you’ve played throughout the game that have since been destroyed, Nine can maintain pressure by utilizing his second effect. For a Total Resource Cost of 4 and an exhaust, you can Decommission any number of Armada from the discard pile, hand, or Resource Area to destroy one Armada with a current defense equal to or less than the number of Armada you’ve Decommissioned. So the more Armada you’ve deployed, the more potent this effect becomes. it allows you to blow up a big Armada or two late game to make your final push.
This week, We will review not only some low-cost Armada that go well with Nine, but also some other cards that allow Nine to win by out-rushing and swarming your opponent. Stay tuned!
