Card Mechanics Today's preview is a perfect compliment to UGC Claymore, which was yesterday's preview. Suppressing Fire is an Antillium Particle Tactic that lowers the defense of the target Armada by 3, which can potentially destroy it (since an Armada of defense 0 is instantly destroyed.) You may also pay a total of 6 Resources to lower an Armada's defense by 9, which can destroy most Armada by itself.
Let's spend the rest of this preview discussing the similarities and differences between this card and UGC Claymore:
-They both cost two resources, though one is Rage and the other is Antillium Particle. -Claymore's alt cost allows it to be splashed into other decks whereas Suppressing Fire's alt cost provides a more expensive/lethal alternative. -Claymore has Override, meaning you can use it during your opponent's turn to respond to their actions, but Suppressing fire goes to the Resource area after it's played since it doesn't have Override. -Claymore deals 3 damage, which means excess damage will count as Morale damage. Suppressing Fire does not actually deal damage. -They both share the potential to both destroy Armada and also soften it up for other attacks.
While both cards accomplish similar tasks, they go about it in different ways and have different uses. Which do you prefer?
