Card Mechanics Deciding whether to go first or second in Advent Saga is not as easy as it is in other TCGs. While it's usually beneficial to go first in most card games, Advent Saga has plenty of great first-turn options for players that end up going second. Today, we examine one of those cards: UGC Claymore. In addition to being a great conditional first-turn option, it's also a great card that has use throughout the game.
UGC Claymore is an override Tactic that deal 3 damage to target Armada for two Rage. While this card isn't great to play on the first turn if you go first, going second allows you to can pick off your opponent's first Armada deployment and maybe even deal some extra damage in the process, since excess damage will hit your opponent's Advent's morale. In fact, this card is useful throughout the whole game, as many Armada will flat out be destroyed by being hit with this Tactic. At worst, it softens your opponent's big Armada to prepare for an attack.
Lastly, I'd like to point out that UGC Claymore can be played for 3 of any kind of resource, making it a great splash choice in other decks.
