Character Profile
"Humanity’s effect on the other races has been really interesting. The fuzzballs worship us as their saviors. The jelly people have taken to mimicking our humanoid forms. Of all of the races in the UGC Alliance, humans are easily the least impressive, and yet somehow everyone wants to be like us. Even the droids. We’ve spent thousands of years perfecting the robotic consciousness and somehow their first task is have their humanity acknowledged. They adorn themselves in clothing and accessories, go by chosen names and attempt to integrate into society as if it makes the slightest bit of sense. It all comes off as a bit disingenuous if you ask me.
These… things don’t have personalities. Their quirks, desires, and other aspects to convince us of their similarity to us are all programmed constructs. There is no process, no manner of life experience to make them what they are. They can’t grow, and any concept of mood is just fake. Take a look at Westwood. Misfit upgrades one of his runty little gundroids, gives it a name, a trench coat and some anachronistic hat and suddenly it’s his best friend? That thing doesn’t even know what friendship is. It protects Misfit because that’s what the nutjob programmed it to do. That killing machine is exactly that, a machine, and no personality protocol is going to convince me otherwise." - Agent Nine, Underground Alliance Field Commander
Card Mechanics
To cap off the week, we present Westwood, The Quick Draw. He and Delta Gunslinger, previewed yesterday, are best pals and both gain bonus effects when on the Battleground together. Westwood is quite formidable by himself, a Unique with a solid stat line of 6/6/1. That’s tied for the highest attack and defense among all Rage Armada. (And remember Misfit? He can destroy Westwood to deal 6 damage to an opponent! That’s one third of many Advent’s Morale total.)
Westwood also has an ability that can be activated at anytime for 3 Rage, in which he switches positions with any Armada on the Battleground. This allows for all kinds of strategic plays. Perhaps you move Westwood to your opponent’s back line to get right in the opponent’s face. Or perhaps another Armada is being attacked, and you switch Westwood with that Armada to bail it out. You can even place Westwood in the middle of an AOE blast and swap one of your opponent's Armada into the danger. We look forward to seeing the unique ways our players utilize this effect.
